Penetration testing success relies on effective communication with clients. This talk will address common frustrations and provide strategies for having smooth engagements, as well as insights for clients looking to understand how to get pentests to meet their goals. This will go over strategies to obtain necessary information such as client goals, pre-engagement, managing scope, and minimizing frustrating surprises. This talk will also talk about communicating findings in a way that helps clients understand and appreciate the security risks.

Brandon is an award-winning and decorated Air Force veteran with over 12 years of experience in information security, including seven years in computer and network exploitation. Brandon has tested against a range of clients, primarily those in the Banking, Medical, Tech, and Government sectors. He loves fording the ever-changing landscape of penetration testing and growing his skillset as a tech debt collector. He pulls his experience from his time performing CNO (Computer Network Operations) exploitation for U.S. Cyber Command, the NSA’s ROC/CNO, and more.
