Grab your towel and get ready to hitch a ride to the wackiest corner of cyberspace! This year at WWHF Deadwood 2026, our theme is The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and we’re inviting hackers, makers, tinkerers, and all forms of depressed androids to enter our Cyberdeck Competition!
We’re looking for the best custom cyberdeck inspired by the spirit of the Guide: strange, useful, portable, chaotic, clever, and a dash of absurd.
Judging will focus on creativity, functionality, craftsmanship, theme integration, and overall “Don’t Panic” energy. We will also include a prize to the winner, plus a nice, hot cup of tea, so bring your best cyberdeck, show off your build, and prove that you’ve created the best guide for hacking the universe!
Interested in the Cyberdeck Competition at WWHF – Deadwood 2026? Here are what we will be scoring on!
- Design (physical): Up to 15 points. Should look like the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy described by the books or as seen in the movie
- Functionality: Up to 15 points. Does it run? Can it actually boot up?
- Design (Software): Up to 10 points. Does it actually run any software designed to simulate the actual guide from the book/movie?
- Fun: Any other easter eggs can be added here as bonus points (up to 10)
