The SkillBit (formerly MetaCTF) team is back to run the Capture the Flag competition at Deadwood 2026! The competition will take place on Thursday and Friday of the conference, starting after the opening keynote and wrapping up Friday afternoon. It is open to both virtual and in-person attendees.
The CTF will use a Jeopardy-style format, featuring challenges that cover a wide range of difficulties and topics such as web exploitation, forensics, OSINT, binary exploitation, and more. The CTF will also include tasks tied to the various labs and villages throughout the conference. You may participate individually or in teams of up to 4.
While there will be plenty of tough challenges, this is a beginner-friendly CTF. If you’ve never done a CTF before, this is a great place to start. There will be an AI policy in place.
Prizes include:
- Grand Prize: A coveted Black Badge and challenge coins for the winning team, plus 12-month access to the Antisyphon Training On-Demand catalog for the winning team members.
- Raffle Prize: An in-person conference ticket to either Denver (Mile High) 2027 or Deadwood 2027 plus $1,000 towards travel, and 3-night hotel stay. You can earn raffle tickets by solving challenges and completing labs throughout the conference.
