Hal Pomeranz Linux Forensics Class Instructions

Hello all!

 

Here are the instructions to get your system ready for the class.

1. Download materials from https://archive.org/download/HalLinuxForensics/HalLinuxForensics_archive.torrent

2. Make sure you can start the lab VM (click on …/LinuxForensicsLabVM/LinuxForensics.vmx)  The password for the “lab” user is “linuxforensics” (see the VM notes and the README.txt file.)

   1. You can get it here: https://www.vmware.com/products/workstation-player/workstation-player-evaluation.html

   2. If you are using a Mac, you can use Fusion: https://www.vmware.com/products/fusion.html

3. It’s a VMware virtual machine. Virtual Box will probably work, but we’re not guaranteeing anything with non-VMware platforms.
